I’m not a mental healthcare professional.
I’m a neurospicy guy with 3+ decades of living with anxiety and depression (yay!).
But, what I do have is a set of tools, learned through:
- Lots of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
- Working with university lecturers, giving talks to and answering questions from medical and mental healthcare students.
- Organising events to fundraise and spread mental health awareness alongside charities Mind and It Takes Balls to Talk.
- A whole lot of personal experience and trial and error!
All of this has left me with a set of tools to help fightback against that Chaotic Evil which occasionally attempts to corrupt and confuse my brain!
For the most part, doing some very basic things on regular basis is the biggest help. It’s starting them that’s the hard part.
And that’s what I hope a Short Rest can help you achieve; a starting point and some building blocks to carry on forward.
So please, DON’T GIVE UP.
Take a Short Rest.
